Dear SJEEC Families,
Spring is here!
As I shared in my last letter, we will be having our Ice Cream Social and Open House on Sunday, April 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. This is our 60th year as a preschool and we hope you will be able to celebrate this milestone with us at our Open House. This will be a fun-filled event and a wonderful opportunity for your child to show off their school to their parents and to introduce our school to others. We are still enrolling and would love to give interested families that you know a chance to experience SJEEC first hand. Each classroom will have a game or craft, there will be ice cream sundaes, basket raffles, and we are especially excited that Bring the Farm to You will be here with some of their animals. We are asking families to R.S.V.P. for themselves and their friends so that we are sure to have enough ice cream for everyone.
I am excited to share that we are moving forward with the installation of a new playground for the 2024-2025 school year! We love our current playground and are grateful for all of the memories we have made playing on it with our students, but a new playground is needed. We will be replacing our current pea gravel with mulch making the playground more accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. The pea gravel will still have a place in a dig corner though, so that our students who love playing with the rocks can still do so. We will have a seesaw, new swings, slides, and a ball toss game added. To those of you who contributed to our fundraisers this year that helped pay for it, we want to say, “THANK YOU!” The new playground will be enjoyed by all.
I wanted to give you some important dates so that you can add them to your calendar if you haven’t already done so.
April 25th: Conferences for Red and Blue Room Students
April 28th: Ice Cream Social from 2-4:00 p.m.
May 3rd: Advisory Board Meeting @ 10:00 a.m.
May 8th: Plant Pick-Up @ 3:00 p.m.
May 14th: Last Day of Enrichment
May 15th: Last Day of School for Green Room and Lunch Bunch
May 16th: Last Day of School for Red, Blue, Purple & Yellow Rooms
